22.4.1976 Dykes

Did some reading in the morning intending to work in the afternoon. It was such a beautiful day that I decided to go for a purposeful walk (armed with a few dozen stickers). They’ll stick tenaciously to any smooth surface and suit local propaganda purposes much better than leaflets.

Took a walk to Sewerby via Dykes then back 13 years old by the road – covering a popular and much frequented area. This may all seem very petty, but look what potential there is round here: two “members” backed down as are joining merchant and royal navy, meeting places hostile to anything left of Sir K Joseph.

However, people can’t fail to notice the stickers, which means at least something in the way of though/emotion may be stirred. It may also lead locals to feel there is a large local Communist presence...ha! ha!
