It is very surprising how quickly one adapts to climatic changes. Now it feels as if this Siberian wind has held its icy reign over us for long periods. Still, I wish it would hurry up and go away. The cold in Flamborough keeps flies away, but they are back in summer along with the even greater herds of holiday makers – enriching both petty capitalist and bureaucrat alike.

Completed an English essay in the evening which although only taking a couple of hours to write (I’d made extensive notes beforehand) left me quite exhausted.

Was nothing worth watching on television (here I do not include “anti-television”, the ITV) which is helping my studies a great deal. I only hope they keep it up for the next 18 months or so.

Mum birthday!
