Spent most of the day painting the living room an unimaginative white. It wasn’t an unpleasant job, taking up most of the day.
Went to a YCL public meeting in Hull in the evening. The General Secretary, Tom , was talking. I was disappointed that only about 10 people turned up, of which five were members. Had a very good discussion afterwards, in which I added a few of my points of view. One of the others got onto the old points against human nature, but his arguments were based on little fact. We crossed into a pub and continued the debate in a more comfortable atmosphere.
Discussed the Brid situation with Steve an Carol. Invited a couple of the non-members present to the branch meeting a week on Wednesday. That should be really interesting and I’m looking forward to it very much.

- We had the house in Flamborough, England, for generations. My ancestors were the village blacksmith so it holds many memories. It is a listed building as a blacksmith at some time in Flamborough. My Mum is Pat, my Dad, Peter. I attended St. Oswald's Primary School, Flamborough from 1963-70. I succeeded in passing my Eleven Plus examination, and therefore gained myself a place at Bridlington Grammar School for Boys. I hated science, physics and games! (I am swimming of brill!) I chose to attend Selwyn College Cambridge after sitting and passing the Oxbridge entrance exam; I won a scholarship to attend. I studied graduated English Lit. for which I attained exams and received a Master of Arts.(photo grants'-left) I went to Japan from 1980-83. I also learned Karate in Cambridge. I worked in Tokyo as a teacher of English to business men and adults. Whilst in Tokyo, I was involved in a car accident, which resulted in me being unable to carry on my work out there. I am currently living on the outskirts of York with my parents.
