7.4.1976 Cromwell

We break up tomorrow, but I’ve still got a fair bit of work to do. It all got done today which leaves tomorrow,( we’re now 1/3^rd through our 6^th form syllabus) to do very little.

Got a book on Cromwell out of the Thornton library. Which leaves now only a few of the important books on him to read.

In the evening I attempted to book a room at Christ Church Hall. I gave an alias (plain Smith, I’m afraid). I tried the cover name of Young Reformers and gave the minimum of explanation, expecting it to be a straightforward matter of him checking his dates. He asked a hell of a lot of questions, becoming more suspicious and hostile at each of my equivocal answers. There’s one failure – now where? Possibly a pub room.
