Worked reasonably well at school today, but this feeling lacks momentum and as a result I think will fizzle out in a day or two. Had a lively debate at dinnertime on the usual lunatic sort of things. From pleasant things like sex to unpleasant things like Brown!! He has had he cheek to nominate – along with his neophytes in the school society – Steve R. “pseudo of the year”. Such blatant hypocrisy makes me physically sick! However, he holds no fears for me – physically or mentally and that dung heap does not annoy me. He’s just a cancer, but he upsets my friends – so I suppose in this respect I must neutralise him.

Listened to a refreshingly unbiased view of life in China. The BBC are beginning to show a few programmes with left wing sympathies. ITV are run by capitalists and indeed are totally dependent on capitalist backing. In trying to maintain a less right wing face, they have evolved subtle techniques of anti-socialist propaganda: Lord Chalfont’s views on the plausibility of a Marxist Britain furnish a prime example.

A state TV like in Cuba and USSR would be unbearable, for the majority of programmes are loaded too far the other way. If we could only have the BBC with a little less Tory face

Got sent home from school because of snow drifts, so I put in a hours flail practice.
