14.6 rostrum

A day of great pride for me today...it was announced that I’ve been awarded the lower sixth form prize for History. Steve got English and, a little less surprisingly, French. Mo [teacher] was committed, I suppose to giving the prize to the one who gets the highest marks. I was very proud when they announced it, it means that I’ll be up on some rostrum or other on speech day (July 13th) shaking the hand of some sweaty palmed dignitary or other...I would be a liar if I said I didn’t enjoy it!
