As last year and the one before, I see a Valentine’s Day without a girl. Still, I don’t have to fall into the trap of conformity (i.e. you must have a bird and all your efforts and energies must be thrown in to maintaining this state) that, if not demanded is certainly praised by local society. God!!! Do I know what Lenin, Engels and Marx meant about idiots staving in rural idiocy!!

Didn’t feel very well today, but was comfortable enough to read. Decided that I will apply for a pen friend from the USSR – it should be an interesting and rewarding experience.

Had the inevitable ordeal of spending an evening in the house to undergo. Had a couple of whiskeys which helped to pass the hours.
