12.1.1976 - pursuit of a "perfect bird"

Back to school for another week, but confident in the fact that I will be able to cope with all the work that’s set, so I’ll have time to follow up other intellectual pursuits. I have come to see the fallacy that I can go out to social functions like the infamous “Bempton Disco” and “pick up” a “bird” to my liking. The sexual satisfaction may be there, but very little else.
I have come to realise that school is the only place where I am likely to find the “perfect” girl (or satisfactory at least). Here my critical faculties of assessment are not in abeyance or blinded by alcohol.
School provides me with basic needs: intellectual stimulation and learning; friends and the right condition for finding stable heterosexual relationships – despite not being a mixed school. “School” days will certainly not be described as the Dark Ages for me, more a Renaissance followed by Enlightenment. I hope university will be full of such promise.
Parties are not too bad for “hunting”, because you tend to know the people a bit better – still I thirst for, having experienced sexual, spiritual unity, an assimilation into one unit which thinks constructively and loves. It is not such an ambitious claim, for although I say the area is devoid of “my sort” of girl, reassessment of the general situation has led me to change my judgement (at least on certain numbers of people)
