Woke up at Grandad’s and read some anti-NF literature until about eleven o’clock. Eileen said it would be ok if Trevor and Karl came round in the afternoon.

After meeting them at the station and walking up (yes up, Steve R.) to Grandad’s we got on with our plans. We discussed a number of things, including general issues like the USSR and more practical things like the cost of advertising in the local press. Karl was more to the left than I thought and by the end of the afternoon was ready to join the YVL – Trevor will fix that up.

As far as I’m concerned, the Bridlington Branch of the YCL was formed this day – ironically only a couple of streets away from the house of Frank D., area organiser of the NF!! In my opinion this afternoon has been the most profitable so far in my year’s membership of the YCL. Stayed overnight.
