14.3.3

Bought a “light mechanical device” as Fitzgerald would put it, that is a cigarette rolling machine. Was great fun rolling filtered cigarettes, most of which I’ll probably hand out to my friends. Got a biography of James 1 and a book on the life in Anglo-Saxon England by RL Page. Both proved very interesting, if the former wasn’t so scholarly.

Went out in the evening with Steve R and we met the rest of the lads later on. It’s these Saturday nights that keep Steve in touch with reality. Had a celebration(we need little excuse) as it was my birthday last Thursday. They were still serving drinks until about 11.30 as there was a 21st going on upstairs – irrelevant now that 18 supersedes 21st birthdays in the eye of the law. They brought us some food down making it a thoroughly pleasant evening.

Discussed Hadfield’s theory of homosexual phantasm and admitted to having had experiences as such i.e. in fantasy only. I can just tolerate pouftas, as long as they keep away from me. Deep down I have great repulsion.
